Forum Redesign goes Live

As previewed in Monday's episode, the new design is live. Take a look around and let me know if you find any problems with it.
It takes a little getting used to after the last one, but it's much more user friendly and I think you all will come to prefer it as I have over the past three weeks.

Hey Trick, it looks great. I had to stare at it a while to let it sink in, but it does look good. Two quick questions.
1) Where's the link back to the main ManaNation page? Maybe I'm just missing it.
2) That 1 1/2 of grey space between the ManaNation box and the Hello <username>/Search/News box. Are you planning to use that for something? If not, does it have to be there? Just seems to be unneeded black space, but that's just my opinion. You could put the banner links in there.
Thanks for all the work on the boards!

The design looks great and is definitely easy on the eyes which is always good for overall site experience. Plus the main functions that we've been used to have stayed relatively the same so no issues there.
I do agree about the top grey area, though. It seems like it pushes the content down too far and takes up space. Unless it's strategically designed ad or banner space, would be nice to cut down on it a little. Also would be nice if the ManaNation logo on the top left could bring us back to the main site or at least the front of the forums. I know it's very cliche b/c a lot of sites do it but it really helps in navigation.
Overall a really sexy makeover. Thanks, Trick!

utsugi
, good catch, I've added a link to the main page.

, the header spacing was something I played with a little. When I shortened it I found that it ended up making the layout feel cramped. But I'll play around with it again. I think though that it's openness is one reason the layout is so pleasing to the eye.

Looks good, now you only have to fix the ManaNation logo color to fit the
background a bit better. Also the gray in every other post could be a bit
darker to make it easier on the eyes.

Yeah the reason the logo is different than the rest of the coloring is that I created the logo specifically, but the rest of the images were done by adjusting the hues and such. It's easy enough to go back through and retouch the logo to match. As for the grey in every other post, excellent insight. My monitor settings are such that it is all but invisible for me so I hadn't noticed it.

Looks great Trick. A small request though. Whenever you Quote someone...it takes you into Quick Reply. Is there anyway that you could change that to go to the regular reply post only with the quote on it? Thanks.
