What do you think of Jimmy's thoughts? Did he hit the nail on the head? Do you know of any archetypes you think will make top tier after the rotation? He loves feedback!

Hey Trick,
One deck he missed is Reaper King decks, now they have access to Sunburst,
Frogmite
or even
Blinkmoth Infusion
! It has some easy removal too with
Duplicant
or other imprint cards. I don't see them in the top 8, but I'm willing to bet you'll see at least 1 or 2 in every PTQ!
To his points, I agree that Zoo, next/new level blue, and of course new dredge decks (everyone loves
Reveillark
!) will be the Top 8 (Reveillark + Soulshift?). I see more Elf and White Wheeney decks than ever hitting the mainstream, but with the inclusion of older sets, Blue Control might keep a top spot. Scry and Entwine add some great flexibility. And I'd love to see a few
Chalice of the Voids
sitting in the play area with a
Fate Spinner
and some control cards in hand. Game/Set/Control!
The Mirrodin block also added Fireball again. I can see some nice Shaman/Direct Damage decks using
Rosheen Meanderer
and
Fireball
for a quick clinch move...
But looking back on the Mirrodin block, I can see why Shards has all the colored artifacts. There was a lot more cards dealing with artifacts than I remembered....
Which reminds me...
Mesmeric Orb
would be great for my
Sanity Grinding
Deck :-)

Thanks for the feedback. Like I said though...there may be a few random combo decks that steal tournaments but...they won't be a big impact on the meta. I don't think that
Reaper King
will have any bearing on Extended. The mana base is not the issue with that deck...the scarecrows just don't have any power...thats the issue.

I guess no one has any opinions on my article.
I have a few pretty good ideas for my next article.

Faeries won't be the dominant deck in Extended. It will be a good deck...but not the best.

Faeries might top 8 if they're lucky, but with the new extended... pfft.
I can see Burn, Blue Control, and some form of obnoxious weenie deck of the W or G persuasion that everyone will play. :-)
Hmm, I've noticed there's a lot of black decks in the works also...
