This format was great.  For me, more fun than standard.  I started out the season trying to hate out the "best deck" (Faeries) with red demigod splashed black for festercreeps and soul snuffers.  Turned out, the promo foil Figure of Destiny's were banned and instead of buying new cards or using proxies (which were temporarily allowed) I switched decks to rock with Doran and Scarblade removal package and it was a good call with roughly 60-65% of the field being Kithkin.  Barely missed the top 16s due to sleep deprivation and brain farts.  Good thing there were side drafts.

Some of the best decks:
Elementals - Good match ups against everything but Faeries, but hardly anyone was playing Faeries.
QnT - Great match ups against everything but Faeries, see above.
Kithkin - Ugh.
Doran/Assassins - Great match-up against Kithkin.  Absolutely  love.   BangHead against QnT.
Fae - Ugh.
Merfolk - Smashes QnT and Fae.

"Good decks," proved wrong:
Little Kid g/w - sucked.
Mono G - sucked again.
River Kelpie Mannequin - how do you win?

Anyway, looking forward to Sealed.

Yeah, it was an interesting format. I took Doran (non Assassins) to 5-2 and 4-3. This recent weekend going 4-3 sad sad because my first lost was a Game 3 game loss from the judge due to me forgetting to shuffle a card back into my library that was removed from the game... how annoying.

Thentwo  5 color control matches back to back! I don't think people take matchups into account nearly enough. If only I could have faced...anything besides 5 CC! Oh well I suppose haha. It was a fun block season and I look forward to more PTQs in the future.

It was pretty good for me. Not only did it get me my first GP top 8 but it proved to me that I need to continue to put my principles before passion. Had I not given in and decided to go with what I was touting as the "best deck" in the format, I would have been running G/B at the gp and undoubtedly a day 1 finish at best.
