Well, after seeing all the countless "Building on a Budget", on MtG.com. Me and a friend wanted to see who could come up with the cheapest, best, casual deck. At first I thought oh well this will be easy, I have soo many cards already. Yeah, that didn't work out. I wanted to build a green/black deck all from eventide. (talking about pushing yourself into a corner). I was stuck. For black/green I needed 4 of the Liege's. That already brought me over the budget of a measley $20. I know..... right now we are waiting on me, he believes he has the best deck ever, i think he might. But I was wondering how you guys felt about this deck here.

These are our rules:
1 - Eventide only (Except for lands)
2 - Under $20
3 - Must buy all cards from Coolstuffinc (Except for lands)

This is the deck I wanted to build:
Green/Black -

This is the deck I'm going to run which costs one heck of a lot less.
Red/White -

Any Ideas... Maybe my friend will post his or spam this because he might not like me asking for help... ANYWAY...Have Fun playing MAGIC THE GATHERING!!!

My question is...why only Eventide? Why not use the entire Block? Lorwyn, Morningtide, Shadowmoor, and Eventide are all part of the same block and have some pretty good synergies with each other...even moreso when building on a budget.

We don't have any Eventide and this way we have an "even" chance of winning, Because neither of us has any experience with them.

I'll ask for a decklist from my friend or he might just post it up here.

Since you posted in the casual section, I am assuming you guys are playing casual. Let me direct you to a website full of people who specialize in the decks your looking for. PDCmagic.com. PDC magic is a popular online format. All commons. No uncommons, No Rares. You can use Proxies that were once printde as a common and now are Uncommon. Drain Life is one that comes to mind. You can build a deck for about 5$ that can wreck other decks. I myself have a few, and I know Champoin has a few. Leave this same post on thier forums and you should have a dozen or so post in about 24 hours.

IDK how did I forget?

I remeber now! I have all one kind of land the mountains.

I'm going to switch out the flame jabs for scourge. This decklist is temporary, I might still switch stuff around.

This is what I would do basically mono red but could be changed to blue/red.

// Lands
    22 [SHA] Mountain

// Creatures
    3 [EVE] Stream Hopper
    2 [EVE] Heartlash Cinder
    4 [EVE] Riverfall Mimic
    4 [EVE] Crackleburr *MVP*
    3 [EVE] Noggle Bandit
    3 [EVE] Noggle Hedge-Mage
    4 [EVE] Crag Puca
    3 [EVE] Duergar Cave-Guard

// Spells
    4 [EVE] Puncture Blast
    4 [EVE] Flame Jab
    4 [EVE] Clout of the Dominus

Total: $10.11
If i were to go blue/red I would add in merrow levitators and banishing knack for some fun combos.

I like that deck list. The only thing I would say is run some islands so you can take advantage of the second ability of the Noggle Hedge-Mage.
