So, I seem to think Ravager will be BIG beats for extended this upcoming season.

Any opinions?

Its going to be one of the better decks in Extended for sure. My qustion is...can you deal with the hate? Since its already Red for Berserk...Guttural Response seems like a good choice to help combat Hurkyl's Recall which can be devastating.

My question would be...is Affinity better than the Goblin variants?

Another thing to consider coming off your GP run...Faeries is very good in Extended. Just throwing that out there.

I've had a few people say that, but I don't know what the extended Faeries deck looks like.

I've had a few people say that, but I don't know what the extended Faeries deck looks like.
They are strikingly similar to both the Block and Standard faeries lists. The counterspells and landbases are upgraded and you add in the broken stick...Umezawa's Jitte...and Vedalken Shackles. The biggest glaring loss is Force Spike and Counterspell. This will be a hurdle that will have to be tackled. I think that this is where [card]Thoughtseize and Mana Leak will shine here. I am a huge fan of the ridiculous power of both [card]Thoughtseize and Vendillion Clique. You just rip apart peoples hand and force them to play honest. Here are a few of the more recent lists off of deckcheck.net.

Lands: 22
4 Mutavault
18 Snow-Covered Island
Creatures: 18

2 Extirpate
4 Leyline of the Void
2 Threads of Disloyalty
Lands: 24
4 Mutavault
2 Riptide Laboratory
18 Snow-Covered Island
Creatures: 14

Guttural Response can't target Fracturing Gust.

My question would be...is Affinity better than the Goblin variants?

Doesn't goblins lose most of it's key players in October?

Do you think that Doran is still viable?

While I am obviously not Lee...I think it is viable...but I think that there are better smarter options.

Well the extended format is around the corner, yet I have not really done anything with extended competitively as I have never needed to, along with kind of fearing the insanity of dredge honestly. I have played Doran and Faeries in standard. I have heard that they both are also extended decks and have seen them both in action; however, got the general idea from people that there are better options: affinity, tron, etc. I have done generally decent in PTQs and such and realize that much testing would be needed; however, what would be a good deck to suggest to someone in my position?

4 Wild Nacatl
4 Kird Ape
3 Figure of Destiny
4 Dark Confidant
3 Kitchen Fink
2 Gaddock Teeg
2 Kataki
4 Tribal Flames
4 Tarmagoyf
