Just the other day i was discussing with a friend how nasty the ninjutsu ability is. I was claiming that it would rule if they started making cards with those abilities, but they had an evoke quality to them, so they could be playable as a creature or a fast effect spell your during combat phase.

I think the best one i came up with was a 2/2 ninja that ninjutsued out for the same cost of Persecute, and when it hit play it had the persecute ability. (sorry, I'm not friendly with linking card descriptions yet)

To me that seems like a fairly balanced card, and something a ninja would do.

A friend of my time spoke Japanese and he kept saying "Meluko" rather than "Meloku" and it's because oku is not a japanese construct or something, I don't remember exactly.

I enjoyed parts of Kamigawa but Ravnica blew it out of the water for me.
Ravnica was amazing. They touched on many parts of the Kamigawa block and made them better. The idea of spirits was there...it just wasn't a theme.

The reason that Persecute was such a good card is because it gave such card advantage that many times your opponent just lost the game after a resolved Persecute to balance that card it would need to look similar to this.

Persecuting Ninja 3BB
Zombie Ninja
Ninjutsu 2BB
Whenever Persecuting Ninja deals combat damage to a player choose a color. Target player reveals his or her hand and discards all cards of the chosen color.
2/2

I still think that it would be above the power curve but...it would be a rather good card.

I was thinking more along the lines of a one time hit. So when the Ninjutsu ability is triggered, you get the once

"If the ninjutsu ability was played on Persecuting Ninja this turn...you get the idea"

I love it. If I ever make it to the invitational (HA!) then I'll make this my card. With proper theming as well.

"If the ninjutsu ability was played on Persecuting Ninja this turn...you get the idea"
Oh I see. That would be kind of weak. It would make it strictly worse than Persecute and might push it to being unplayable in terms of power level.

@Trick,
The flavor text could be..."I'm not racist I like people from every color...except Red...I hate Red people."

That is true, but I also tend to forget that I play mostly standard, so now that Persecute is no longer legal, this would be a decent substitute. Plus its a creature!

I'm sure there would be ways to work on it.

I would like to see them make more turtles.... There have been a few turtles such as:

Giant Tortoise
Giant Turtle
Horned Turtle
Vintara Snapper

I think that it would be hilarious in casual play to use a Tribal turtle deck... Or even for 1.5--- a Ninja/Turtle deck, lol.  Ok, but they make these few cards such as turtles and eyes and they should continue to expand to make possible any type of tribal deck(if that made any sense at all--Really tired).

As to the dragons... They should make an entire race of "Creature - Dragonkin" with all having the abilty "such and such counts as a Dragon".  They don't have to be amazing... Maybe make them similar to Faeries, all having flying. Or for that matter, having them all tap to deal damage equal to their power(firebreathing and all).  What would be awesome is for a Dragon card that was a double card(flip the card and it becomes a different card) where he starts as a say.... 1/1 Dragonkin Hatchling and has an upkeep ability that over the coarse of 5 turns, he gets +1/+1 bigger... Like, vanishing 5 and when a vanishing counter is removed... put a +1/+1 counter on him. Then the ability... When the last counter is removed, "flip the card" thus making him a different creature. This could be a 3/3 Flyer with "tap, deal damage equal to its power." So, in essence the dragon hatchling would become a dragon, eventually(the 3/3 would still have the +1/+1 counters). Anyway, you would have to play Kamagawa block in order to appreciate the double cards. Anyway, it would be a pretty cool idea. Possibly broken though.

Something I would not mind seeing....though not sure how well it would work, would be a angels vs. demons set (similar to goblins vs. elves) or a decent angels/demons deck. I had one running back in the days of "old" non-n00bdom, but that was then and this is now.   angel >smiley

Right now, I am working on a scarecrow theme, using changelings to run the colors needed for abilities....anyone have any ideas on this? idea!

Also, had a treefolk deck win nicely at a "kitchentop" tourney (winner has dinner bought for them for a month, kinda nice)...anyone had any luck with those?  Let me know. king

Everyone have a great Remembrance/Memorial Day, and if you see a vet, please tell them thanks.  Even if you hate war, like me, those guys are out in the shi*t so we can sit back and enjoy conversations like this.

vampires are a good creature type and that just could be another tribe. however, i don't think that the new sets will have such a heavy tribal base like lorwyn did. nonetheless i would personally like to see the return of angels and dragons to a competitive form

Eye.
Flat out, Eyes, well there is only 2 and we need more than that to make them show up in any deck, I think an Eye deck would be a great addition to anyone's arsonel.
Eye.

100% agree, I was just looking through my old cards and found an Evil Eye of Urborg and thought how cool it would be to have an Eye Deck, much to my dismay I found there were just the 2. I was so dissapointed.

I would also love to see more Gorgons, I think thats a neat creature type.

I love Treefolk I think thats such a cool idea for a type. The other day I put together a Treefolk deck from cards I had, and I was surprised at how well it did just playing it with a couple people during Breaks at FNM, what did your deck end up looking like?
