HELP SEND LEE TO BERLIN

On September 13th, ManaNation is hosting it's third event! The money from these tournaments will be used to send Lee to Pro Tour Berlin.

Unlike previous tournaments, this one will feature not one but TWO tournaments, the first will be sanctioned and the latter will be unsanctioned just for fun.

These will be on the same day, with staggered starts. And of course hosted by our sponsors, Cool Stuff Inc.

Sanctioned Tournament
Format: Standard
Type: Swiss, cut to top 8
Registration Opens @ 10am
Play begins @ 11am
Entry Fee: $20
Judge: TBA

Prize: 70% of the entry fees split among top 8, minimum of $500 guaranteed.

Unsanction Tournament
Format: Make your own Standard
Type: Swiss, cut to top 8 (assuming 16+ players)
Registration opens @ 10am
Play begins AFTER Round 2 of the Standard tournament ends
Entry Fee: $10
Judge: TBA

Prize: 80% of entry fees.

Need the rules for Make Your Own Standard? Here's a video from Mark Rosewater leading up to the 2007 Invitational. We'll also have a sheet for competitors featuring the banned cards so you don't have to worry about memorizing the list.

Raffles!
Yes the raffles will continue with several prizes to help raise money for Lee!
  • Signed & limited edition art print framed of art from Counsel of the Soratami
  • Tickets for two to see the Blue Men Group here in Orlando!
  • Box of Lorwyn, Morningtide, Shadowmoor, Eventide booster packs, Winner's choice
  • And more!

All details on this event subject to change.

Details still to come, but mark your calendar.

PS - We're going to be running a second non-sanctioned event that should be pretty fun.
So...is there a sanctioned tournament...and a non-sanctioned tournament? Rock on. Will it be on the same day? Do you have a format in line yet? My vote is either Extended or Legacy.

It wouldn't exactly be practice for you...since you wouldn't play...but it would give you some ideas for the format. I wonder if you would get the turnout though.

I would play an extended tourney, but sadly, or un sadly, I will be in Las Vegas on the 13th.

I got an idea for you...you could do a build your own standard tournament. For example: Ravnica Block, Mirrodin Block, and 6th Edition.

I think that this would be awesome...and could draw a pretty big crowd.

Man when I get out of college I'm definately moving to northern florida, I can go anywhere in florida from there but have a low chance of getting hit by hurricanes smiley

Till then I have to miss out on everything thats cool (Except GenCon which is expensive as Fuck) while I'm up here in kentucky.

Internet raffle, excellent idea. I'll have to research the legality issues of it. Until then I'll set up the paypal form for people who want to donate to get Lee to Berlin.

I'm saving up for Shards right now but if I get some cash I can spare I'll happily donate to Lee going to Berlin.
