There are way too many burn spells in standard already.  Bringing back Da Bolt would make red decks THAT much stronger...might as well bring Fireblast back.

Don't get me wrong...now is definetly not the time to bring it back...I just mean it could and should be done fairly soon. Rift Bolt and Storm[/card] are leaving with Shards of Alara...and if rumors are right...they are going back to the basics of magic and I think that we could see a lot of "plays" on older cards. I wouldn't be too surprised if this actually got printed then.

Thats the only way that it could ever see print though...and surprisingly its the only version of Lightning Bolt that they have never printed. I know that my Legacy burn deck would welcome this addition. thumb

Shard Volley proves that Lightning Bolt as an instant is just to good. People are willing to sacrfice a land to play Lightning Bolt. Don't get me wrong...at sorcery speed...it would still be one of the strongest burn spells that we have gotten in a long long time.

Shard Volley is an incredibly versatile card on it own, but it becomes downright sickening with Countryside Crusher, Greater Gargadon, Flagstones etc. It's just danged good and it is going to be around a loooong time i'm afraid.

I have Shard Volley in almost every deck that I currently play. It doesn't need the synergy of those other cards to be ridiculous. The card is insane. This is just further proof that Lightning Bolt would be broken. My point however is that I think that a sorcery speed Lightning Bolt would be very powerful...but not broken. I am hoping to see it printed soon.
