Trying to fix my Kithkin deck for FNM
«

This is my current Kithkin deck, I had an older Kithkin that I would run at FNM, it usually did pretty well and I put it together mostly from cards I own, but this one is different and I would like some suggestions on it. I know it is a bit too big currently, running over 60 cards, but I am just terrible at cutting cards.
Creatures:
Augury Adept
x3
Knight of Meadowgrain
x3
Preeminent Captain
x1
Kinbsaile Skirmisher
X2
Wizened Cenn
x3
Thoughtweft Trio
x4
Patrol Signaler
x2
Ballynock Cohort
x2
Goldmeadow Stalwart
x1
Kithkin Zephyrnaut
x4
Figure of Destiny
x2
Kithkin Harbinger
x4
Spells
Unmake
x4 (replaced
oblivion Ring
)
Veteran's Armaments
x3
Light from Within
x3
Milita's Pride
x3
Armored Ascension
x2
the Sideboard isn't really together at this point as I am not happy with the deck itself.
Land: Plains x20
Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Well, lets see...
I would go up to 4
Knight of Meadowgrain
, because it really is just fantastic in this deck. I'm not sure why you are playing
Kinsbaile Skirmisher
, because I feel like it's probably going to be worse than
Wizened Cenn
99% of the time. I wouldn't play 4 of the
Thoughtweft Trio
, because it's pretty inefficient, and you really don't want it till late game. I'd play 2 or three at most. I'm pretty sure there should be 4
Goldmeadow Stalwart
, because ideally you should always play it turn one. The
Kithkin Harbinger
seems like a waste of a slot, because it's an inefficient creature and your deck should be consistent enough that you shouldn't ever really need to search out any of your kithkin.
Unmake
seems like a great option to deal with creatures, but I think
Oblivion Ring
probably still deserves a slot in this deck, because of the prevalence of
Bitterblossom
in the format. Since realistically this deck has a bad matchup versus Faeries, I think that O-Ring in the main deck is a good idea.
How has
Veteran's Armaments
been playing? My thought is that your two-drop slot is already pretty full, and I can't imagine it gives that much of a bonus unless you are already winning.
I would consider playing
Spectral Procession
, because the card advantage is great. Likewise,
Cloudgoat Ranger
is probably a good fit for this deck.
Mirrorweave
is explosive in this sort of deck, and allows for some crazy combat shenanigans.
Surge of Thoughtweft
can probably fill the
Kinsbaile Skirmisher
slot, and it usually draws you a card as well, not to mention being at instant speed, which is quite useful.
Finally, you probably need to play more lands.
Windbrisk Heights
is great for Kithkin, because you can usually activate it pretty easily. If you are worried about flooding,
Rustic Cachlan
is fantastic because it doubles as a combat trick.

The good thing about kithkin is that everything is basically an auto 4 of or close anyway haha.
4
Figure of Destiny
4
Knight of Meadowgrain
4
Goldmeadow Stalwart
4
Wizened Cenn
4
Spectral Procession
This is your core. You have a lot of fluff in your deck. I would cut Harbinger, skirmisher, zephyrnaut, patrol signaler, and captain. Thoughtweft Trio isn't that amazing, but for FNM I'm sure it could help if you really like it. You could cut some of them though. Armored Ascension should probably come out. It isn't good for you to tap the mana for an enchantment only to have the creature killed. 2 for 1s aren't too good for you. You will be better just having a low curve pumping out the creatures.
Windbrisk Heights is good for you and you should probably run 4. Rustic Clachan is probably also an auto 4 of because why not? Mirrorweave is a trick that can totally win you games that you shouldn't have. Play Spectral and swing for 3. Then activate the Heights that had a Mirrorweave under it. This makes plays sad I hear haha.

People kinda get down on the Trio, but when I drop him turn 4 or have him come out swinging with Preeminent Captain it can really really help. Hes a 5/5 with first strike and vigilance who blocks any number of creatures, he can eat up a bunch of the opponents board and they are far less likely to attack with him on the board, people generally go for the chump block on him freeing up my other guys to whittle away. He has saved me so many times, especially when you can get Veteran's Armaments or Armored Ascension oh him. He usually won't get burned, but he might get unmade or killed, which brings back out the Harbinger and there is a cycle. People generally see him as the big threat on the board, and he isn't always, especially with Augury Adept drawing me cards and pumping my life (granted in a pure Kithkin deck its never a whole lot, but its still decent)
I have been thinking of cutting the Harbingers as the cards I usually have in my hand are good enough (and I just fish for the trios or Augury Adept), I use her mainly for Trio replacement if they get destroyed, and replacing something in favor of more removal. I was thinking about the Armaments and their limits but they can be useful, especially in blocking when put on the Trios, as they get pumped when anything attacks. the Trio has cleared the board for me before with the armaments attached and he works great in a casual or FNM type situation.
Generally I am limited by what cards I can get/ afford. (been trying to get a 3rd Knight and more Stalwarts at my local shops for a while now...) I have bough some online before, but I don't really want to spend that much money. I'll look into the Procession and Windbrisk Heights though.
