Are lands a color?

As the subject states, I am wondering if lands are the color depending on what mana color they make?
Ex: Swamps are black.

No. Lands are colorless unless something like
Painter's Servant
makes them a certain color. Even if a land happens to be Black...it doesn't allow it to tap for Black mana.
This is a much different story when things are a basic land type. If a land has a basic land type...then it produces that mana. For example. When
Urborg, Tomb of Yawgmoth
is in play...it turns all lands into
Swamp
s in addition to their normal type. Because each of your lands are
Swamp
s...they all tap for Black mana. Does this make sense?

That was a good answer, but I think for simplicity of his question and not confusing him, I would of just said no.

Lands are colorless and do not count as colored permanents. EX. Crowd of Cinders, lands do not count as a lack permanent in this situation. to answer you're question lands are colorless permanents.
